Buses stop running in the late afternoon. Be sure to check the time of the last bus from your stop so you don't get stranded far from your hotel.

Mid-morning or early afternoon are great times to ride. Avoiding the morning and evening rush hours ensures a smoother journey.

While you can often buy tickets on the bus, booking in advance saves time and secures your price.

Note that on the first Sunday of the month, state museums are free, so the city—and the buses—might be busier than usual.
