ATMosfera Tram Restaurant - Dinner Tour Review

This is perhaps the most "Milanese" date night possible. The transport company (ATM) converted two historic "Carrelli" trams into luxury dining cars.

The Experience

You board at Piazza Castello. The tram is retro-fitted with tables, lamps, and a small kitchen.

• The Route: The tram moves slowly through the city center, passing the Duomo, the Scala, the Arco della Pace, and Porta Nuova.
• The Pace: It's leisurely. You barely feel the movement (except for the occasional screech of the wheels on a curve, which adds to the charm).

The Menu

There are usually three menus: Meat, Fish, and Vegetarian. The food is surprisingly good for a kitchen on wheels. It's traditional Milanese with a modern twist. Expect risotto, perch fillets, and panettone desserts.

How to Book

• Difficulty: Hard. This is incredibly popular. You often need to book 1-2 months in advance via the ATM website.
• Cost: Around €90 per person (includes wine and the tour).

Is it worth it?

Yes. Seeing the city drift by while sipping prosecco is magical. Just don't drink too much—the bathroom on the tram is... compact.
